Hello 2019! It feels like 2018 went by in a blink of an eye and we are halfway through the first month of
January 2019. The real estate world seemed to take a break for about three weeks for the year during
the holiday season and is now ramping up again for the year and we are excited for it.
The Laramie Real Estate market in 2018 looked much like 2017. The number of residential properties
sold in town remained similar but the average price per home did increase by over $3,000 to $244,652.
In the county, the average price home sale was higher for 2018 at $297,903. Thus far this year, we are
still limited on inventory available for Buyers, and all of us are hoping for more inventory to hit this
spring. Land sales saw over a 45% jump for 2018 with many buyers starting to buy pieces in popular
county subdivisions to build their homes.
Our economy appears stable at the time and while we do not have any big announcements of new
companies moving to Laramie, we have represented plenty moving in for already established companies
and for UW starting a career and life here. One compliment we hear often is that the people in Laramie
are what make Laramie and Wyoming. We tend to agree – we don’t stick around for the winter
weather! With that, our town, our community attracts new people from retiree’s to families that have
researched the town and love what the town and UW has to offer to their children. Plus, did you hear
that Laramie was named a MUST SEE DESTINATION in 2019 by Expedia? That proves that our “little”
town has a great atmosphere.
It really is never a bad time to sell or buy a home, are there peak times, yes, but each scenario has its
positives and minus’s. If you do plan on selling this year, we again suggest getting your home on the
market as early in spring as possible. Call us today if you would like any advise on getting your home
“show” and “sell” ready.
As a company, we had another record setting year with 25% increase in sales in 2018. This year we hope
to grow again as a company and as Realtors to expand and continue our service and knowledge to our
clients. We have six full-time agents in the office, where all we do is real estate, it is not only our career
but our passion.
